FACIAL SKIN: REGENERATION STARTS WITH SLEEP
Sleep, as you know, is defined as "restorative" if it occurs without interruptions caused by noise, bad dreams or worries and if you wake up in the morning energised to face a new day. However, you may not know that sleeping at least eight hours helps improve the appearance and beauty of the face because it stimulates cell regeneration, so sleep is good for both the mind and the skin. How? First of all, and this may seem trivial, it is not exposed to external environmental agents, such as the sun, dust, pollution etc. Furthermore, during the night, the biological mechanisms of the skin change completely compared to those that take place during the day. Let's see how.
While sleeping, the skin dehydrates (there is a loss of transepidermal water), because the skin temperature increases due to the dilation of the capillaries; the "dehydration" is accompanied by a lower production of sebum, therefore increased dryness of the skin. You may be wondering: what is positive about all of this? There is the fact that at the basis of these mechanisms is melatonin – the sleep hormone produced by the pineal gland which regulates the sleep-wake cycle. The latter, which reaches the peak of its activity from around midnight to four in the morning, fights free radicals (mainly responsible for skin damage) during sleep with an antioxidant action. Basically, during this peak, the epidermis carries out a repairing and preparatory action for the following day. But that's not all: this time frame in which melatonin is at full capacity is the moment in which cosmetics reach their maximum effectiveness: you understood correctly, cosmetics are more effective if used at night.
Nighttime is the best time to regenerate the skin, not just the mind!
While resting, the skin does not have to worry about protecting itself from UVA and UVB sun rays and has plenty of time to intervene to repair the damage suffered during the day. This is the right time to intervene with more nourishing treatments capable of combating dehydration, such as hyaluronic acid, Liftonin Xpert® and vegetable bio placenta and with everything that further enhances the repairing power of cellular activity, such as vitamin E, rice oil and argan oil.
